Young Brothers and Hawaiian Tug & Barge Now Accepting Maui County Applications for Community Grant Funds

Young Brothers, Limited (YB) and Hawaiian Tug & Barge (HTB) are now accepting grant applications for their Community Gift Giving Program from non-profit community organizations in Maui County. The program will award grants of up to $2,500 per organization.

Community organizations that meet the following criteria are invited to submit applications for HTB/YB grant consideration:

  • IRS Approved under Section 501 (c) 3
  • Purpose of organization is related to:
    • Health
    • Education
    • Civic and Community Service
    • Youth Activities
    • Cultural Enrichment
    • Environment
    • Special Community Projects

 

HTB/YB established the Community Gift Giving Program in 2001 to provide recognition and support to charitable community organizations on each island. Since its inception, the community gift-giving program contributed more than $699,900 to 743 non-profit organizations throughout the State of Hawaii, of which $265,000 went to 245 Maui organizations.

The Maui County Community Advisory Board members are Roy Katsuda, Chairperson; Sandy Baz and Jo-Ann Ridao of Maui; and Alberta de Jetley of Lanai.

Applications Rules:

  • Submissions must include one original application and three copies.
  • No attachments will be accepted.
  • One application per organization (no multiple site applications).
  • A copy of the 501 (c) 3 must be attached.
  • Completed applications must be postmarked no later than Monday, November 19, 2012 to:
