More than 12,000 walkers took part in the 34th annual statewide Visitor Industry Charity Walks throughout May, on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, Molokai and Hawaii Island. On Maui, participants received reusable shopping bags and bottled water from the American Resort Development Association of Hawaii (ARDA-Hawaii, the timeshare industry), who also sponsored the walk.
