Hawaiian Building Maintenance Promotes Janet Kwong to Director of Finance

Janet Kwong, Hawaiian Building Maintenance Director of Finance

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM), the largest facilities management services company in Hawaii, has promoted Janet Kwong to Director of Finance. Kwong joined HBM as the Assistant Controller in 2007 and through her proven capabilities has earned the opportunity to lead the company’s finance department.

 

“Kwong’s demonstrated competence in the area of finance makes her the perfect choice for this position” said Karl Fujii, Executive Vice President of HBM. “Additionally, her leadership skills will allow her to effectively oversee production within the accounting department,” he added. HBM is a long-standing industry leader in Hawaii, known for providing high quality and cost efficient property management and building services solutions.

 

As Director of Finance, Kwong’s duties include conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports; budgeting and forecasting; developing and maintaining accounting methods and procedures; and ensuring financial compliance.

 

Kwong began her career at Ikeda & Wong, CPA, Inc. and later worked as Finance Manager at the University, Clinical, Education & Research Associates (UCERA) which is a non-profit organization supporting the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. She currently maintains a CPA license and is a notary public.

 

Kwong earned an accounting degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Hawaii Society of CPAs.
