The Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce (HJCC) will feature the work of internationally acclaimed fabric artist and textile curator Reiko Brandon, alongside submissions from artists from across the state, at its 33rd Commitment To Excellence exhibition, which opens on August 23 at the Academy Art Center at Linekona. The HJCC is the sponsor of the annual art exhibition and sale, which includes 2-D and 3-D multimedia pieces by both professional and amateur artists and is guest-juried by leaders selected from Hawaii’s arts community.

“Each year, the Commitment to Excellence exhibition has grown in participation, in large part due to the talented artists who have been a part of the show,” says Wayne Ishihara, President of the HJCC. “Reiko Brandon has had such an undeniable impact on the art community both here in her adopted home of Hawaii, as well as abroad. We are very glad to be able to showcase her work as part of the exhibition, and we think visitors to the Academy Art Center will be amazed at the variety and magnificence of all the submissions as a whole.”

The 33rd annual Commitment to Excellence exhibition will run from August 23 through September 1 at the Academy Art Center at Linekona.
