Pagoda Floating Restaurant and Hotel

Hotel and Restaurant Services to Continue Uninterrupted and Employees will be Retained, by Pagoda Management Services

HTH Corporation and Peter Savio today, October 15, 2010, announced that the 359-room Pagoda Hotel and Floating Restaurant will change ownership for the first time in its 46-year history. An agreement was reached for HTH Corporation to sell the hotel and restaurant to Peter Savio.

The Pagoda Hotel and Floating Restaurant has been a landmark retreat popular among island families and visitors for decades. Built in 1964 in the heart of Honolulu just steps off busy Keeaumoku Street, the property’s one-of-a-kind design features include koi ponds, Japanese gardens and cascading waterfalls, all the vision and creation of the late H.T. Hayashi. Its unique design provides a city oasis with every convenience within reach.

Pagoda Management Services, LLC., an affiliate of Aqua Hotels and Resorts has been retained by Peter Savio to manage the property and is expected to infuse the hotel and dining facilities with state-of-the-art technology and upgrades to further enhance guest experience, while maintaining the property’s distinct charm. Aqua and Savio will conduct Informational meetings with the employees next week.

“The decision to sell the Pagoda was made with mixed emotions,” said John R. Hayashi, president of, HTH Corporation. “It was made knowing this property will be in the hands of a well-respected leader in Hawaii’s business community and with the continued employment of the dedicated Pagoda ohana,” he added.

HTH Corporation also owns the Pacific Beach Hotel, and Pacific Beach Corporation will continue to manage the Waikiki property.

“We are excited about the future of the Pagoda Hotel and Restaurants,” said Savio “We know many island families have fond memories of time spent at the Pagoda, including Sunday morning brunches, private teahouse parties and full-scale celebrations in the property’s numerous banquet facilities. We intend to continue making these opportunities available and will enhance them in exciting ways,” he said. “We especially look forward to continue hosting of the thousands of neighbor islanders who call the Pagoda their home when on Oahu.”

Confirmed reservations will remain in place, guests need not call to verify their status. Reservations may continue to be made online at www.pagodahotel.com or by calling 1-808-923-4511 or toll free at1-800-4-Pagoda.
